Can coffee really cure headaches?

Headaches and migraines can ruin your day. A throbbing migraine can make you grab your head and pray for it to disappear. Clearly, all you can do is control the symptoms.

Most of us approach coffee when we do not want to take the help of medicines. But does it really help to get rid of the pain? Experts suggest that there is a very different problem underneath.

According to doctors, while coffee can solve their migraines, it can also make it worse. Depending on the intensity of the pain and your sensitivity to caffeine, coffee may or may not be the solution for your chronic problem.

This is why

First, headaches occur when certain blood vessels swell in the brain. The caffeine present in coffee forces the blood vessels to contract and reduce swelling and, at the same time, relaxes the muscles around the tensed area. While this can make coffee feel like a wonderful medication to stop the annoying pains and discomfort, if you have a high dose of caffeine, the same muscles could actually do more and intensify the pain.

Does this make you reconsider your decision? We tell you more reasons.

It should also be remembered that caffeine affects everyone differently and, therefore, may not be the answer to resolving pain and migraines. In the same way that coffee does not wake some people from a deep sleep and causes anxiety, coffee cannot help everyone to get rid of a headache from tension or a migraine. Therefore, depending on the caffeine alone will not help.

It also depends on how many cups of coffee you have already taken. On normal days, 1-2 cups of coffee are ideal, but if you are drinking more than that, it will not help you. Instead, it will make you feel more rehydrated and anxious, which will increase your migraine problem.

Also, when you have a migraine and do not have medications on hand, never drink caffeinated beverages. They can be worse than coffee. Many of these drinks contain neuro stimulants that can trigger the nerves and cause dizziness and seizures. In addition, they also contain a high dose of sugar and empty calories so it may not be the best option you have.
